Innovation from the mountain tops of Åre, Sweden.
For three weeks, I have been the assistant ‘chief of course’ at the World Ski Championships 2019 in Åre, Sweden. This included coordinating and preparing the slopes for the various alpine events. The event was a huge success, primarily as a result of some great team collaboration and hard work put in by the vast team of volunteers.
But, it was very sad to see Lindsay Vonn retire from competitive racing. However, she did finish a very credible third in a highly competitive and thrilling women’s downhill.
Meanwhile, even with all this excitement going on around me I still found time to talk about my other passion, innovation. In this short video I talk about the challenges we faced in preparing the slopes for each alpine event. Removing excessive snow consequently, being one of those major team collaboration challenges which we had to find a clever and innovative solution for. And we did…
